about us
Wildlife Welfare Organisation (WWO) was founded in 1986 and one of the oldest wildlife care group in South Australia.
The organisation was established to assist with the ever growing number of sick and injured wildlife found on the Fleurieu Peninsula, mostly caused through direct and indirect human interactions.
WWO cares for all animals including marspials, reptiles, native birds and specialises in aquatic and seabirds.

Are donations tax-deductible?
Yes, all donations of AUD $2.00 and over are tax deductible. Please contact us if you wish to receive a receipt for a donation.
How often will I be required to volunteer?
We ask that volunteer can consistently and reliably commit to at least one full shift per week.

How old do I have to be to join WWO?
To become a wildlife rescuer and carer with WWO, you must be 18 or older.
How do I apply to become a volunteer?
To volunteer with us, apply for your position online here. Additionally, you will need to become a financial member of WWO. Individual membership carries an annual fee of $20, while family membership is priced at $30 per year.
Membership fees can be paid on the day of your induction.
